When you have employees who work hard for you and serve you loyally, you want to keep them coming back to work with you every day instead of hitting the paper to see if there are any better offers. Keeping good employees means treating them well, and more than that, rewarding them for their hard work and showing them appreciation for the same. This means raises and promotions, kind words of thanks and appreciation, and corporate gifts to celebrate their milestones and to help them feel your thankfulness for them. There are many ways in which employees can show you their worth, and many ways in which you can reward them for their hard work with you and for proving their worth by performing well. Simply retaining an employee is one way of telling them that they are valued, since those who do not earn your regard are often either let go or driven to quit long before they have really settled in. Celebrate your faithful employees and those who have done good work for you over a period of time by celebrating their anniversaries with them. When employees reach a five year anniversary with your company, it is time to recognize them in front of their peers as especially valuable members of the team. Congratulate them publicly, perhaps at a company luncheon, and present them with a corporate gift as a measure of your thanks. The same goes for employees who have reached ten years with your company and more. Another way that we show appreciation for good employees is to promote them, and this should also be celebrated as the event that it is. Thank them, congratulate them, and present them with a corporate gift to show your pleasure in their hard-earned success and in their continued good work for your business. You will not just be making them very happy, you will also be encouraging other employees to work hard and earn the same honors. When an employee performs especially well, but you cannot authorize a raise at that time and there is no room for a promotion, then a corporate gift, a sincere thank you, and perhaps a little paid time off for their hard work should be enough of a thank you until you can get them that raise. In this case, the gift should be given privately, the thank you should be very sincere, and whatever other compensation you can offer, like a gift card, a cash bonus, or time off, should be as generous as possible. No matter what the specific reason that you are rewarding your employee, you should take care to select a great gift and present it in a way that is appropriate. Corporate gifts can be a wonderful way to reward your top employees for their hard work and dedication, and can be a great way to encourage further loyalty and hard work from them in the many years that they will continue to work with and for you.
