We all know that without visitors to your eBay auctions, you aren't going to make any sales. Traffic is the lifeblood of your eBay business - but not any ordinary traffic. We want highly targeted, cash-in-hand prospects that are desperate to snatch up your products. There are a number of ways of traffic generation, but here are some of the most profitable: Article Marketing Write a number of articles related to the products in your store (e.g. if you sell exercise equipment, then write an article about how exercise equipment can help you lose weight, or how to choose a piece of exercise equipment) Once you've written the article, add an author resource box and include links back to your eBay store. For example:- "Your Full Name is a health and fitness expert and an established trader in quality health and fitness exercise equipment. You can take a look at the exercise equipment currently for sale in his/her eBay store at http://www.stores.ebay.com/myshopname Now that you have the article and author resource box, you need to submit your article to as many sites as possible. You can do this using software, a service, or your own time and effort. I personally use Article Marketer, however if you are just starting out and are not prepared to invest in their service yet, then you can submit your articles by hand to the top article directories, which include: Now you have a number of links pointing to your eBay store and potential customers will be following these links and perhaps buying your products. Google Adwords You can also pay for traffic using Google Adwords. You simply select a number of keywords relating to your shop products, select a maximum bid and you have a number of adverts placed on related websites and in the Google search engine. If people follow these adverts, then you do have to pay a small amount, but because they are targeted, you could probably achieve a very high conversion. Ezine Advertising This method is simple, but again you have to pay for it. You simply contact ezine owners related to the products you sell and ask if they will stick a link to your store in their next ezine. Once you have negotiated a price you could have direct advertising to thousands of targeted subscribers. Viral Reports This requires a little more work, but with greater results. You write a short 8-12 page report related to the products you sell and then distribute as many copies as possible. You can sell it cheaply on eBay, give it away as a bonus to all purchasers of your products, post adverts in forums (don't spam) and place it on as many free eBooks websites as possible. Grant master resale rights to the report and you will hopefully have hundreds, even thousands of people distributing your report with links to your store inside. Place A Link On Your Sites If you have any websites, then place a link to your eBay store on them. This is perhaps the easiest method of generating traffic to your auctions, but not quite as effective. Place A Link On Other Sites If any sites in your niche are accepting links on their sites (for a fee) consider snapping the offer up. They could send a number of hungry buyers to your eBay auctions. There are a number of methods, but certainly not all, for generating targeted traffic to your auctions, however there are certainly more. If you put your mind to it, you could conjure up a number of ingenious methods that explode your eBay auction traffic. Also remember that you don’t have to generate traffic using “off site” techniques. You can also use “on site” techniques, such as keywords in titles, an attractive auction description, getting on the eBay pulse and many more methods.
