Finding the Right Life Coach for You

By: david

A life coach is someone who will be a partner for you in your life. This coach will be right beside you to help you figure out what you want in your life and how to get there. Having a life coach is a relationship-process that will help you to achieve all of your personal and professional goals in life.

No matter if you are a busy mom and housewife, a struggling artist, or the president of a company there is the right life coach out there for you.

When searching for a life coach, do not rush. You should find someone that you are completely at ease with; someone who is like a friend to you; someone who you are comfortable enough with to go to whenever you feel at your most desperate and lost. A life coach will be able to calm you down, set everything in perspective, and help you to get back on track.

Therefore, during your search you must take your time. You should research life coaches. Find ones that interest you. Talk with each of the ones that you find interesting and let them know about you. Then, after you’ve spoken with all of them and gotten a good feel for each of them take your time to go think by yourself and figure out which one of them is the right one for you. The one you feel is going to be the most dedicated to you reaching your goals and the most dedicated to your well-being is the one you should choose.

In general, a life coach should be committed to helping their clients reach their goals at a pace that is realistic. A life coach is concerned about the happiness of their clients. A life coach is there for their clients when their clients come into situations that may dismay them and may make them feel like giving up. They are there to help them realize that goals change, and that when life makes changes you have to adjust yourself and your goals to these changes.

There actually isn’t a licensing mechanism for life or business coaches at this point. Despite this, there is the International Coach Federation (ICF), which was created to maintain a support and network system for life and business coaches. The ICF is an organization that helps to preserve the integrity of the coaching profession by having classes and programs that members are required to take to become accredited by the ICF. Members are encouraged to be active members of the federation and of the professional coaching community. The ICF also keeps a database on its online website of member coaches for those who are seeking a coach.

If the coach you are looking into isn’t a part of the ICF, ask them about their experience. There are many great life and business coaches out there who aren’t a part of the ICF but who have a vast amount of good experience with coaching people successfully.
