An announcement normally demands no response from the receiving person. I don't know how often I have got announcement or invitations and I wasn't sure whether or not a response was required. The wording they chose in the card made the whole thing confusing.

For example, a friend of mine was getting married. She sent a wedding announcement that had no enclosure. After the wedding, she sent a note saying that she was sorry that I couldn't make it to the occasion. She didn't realize that there is a big difference between invitations and announcements.

I sent well-wishes and a gift to the couple's home. I know that not every person can be asked to attend a wedding taking in account the costs. I just figured that they were on a tight budget and that they had to have a cut-off limit. Some couples only invite very close members of their families to their wedding.

The difference between invitations and announcements might seem like a no-brainer but it can be a little confusing. It seems as if a lot of persons tend to take announcement products as invites. There are some easy ways to determine whether or not you need invitations or announcements.

You need invitation products if you expect the person to attend the event or party. These items generally contain a response card. In order to get your response, just put your address and a stamp on the enclosed card. This will help you plan your event. It does help greatly to know how many people will be in attendance.

Because the announcement doesn't required a response from the receiver, why do you need to send one?. This is the principal difference between invitations and announcements. You are not having a ceremony that they can attend but you want people to know about your special event.Even though announcements are usually reserved for births and graduations, some choose to use them for weddings as well.
