Leander and Cedar Park

Cedar Park and Leander, although these two areas share a common bond through history, location and a dependence on the other, they are each progressive and flourishing communities. While the boundaries and distance between the two is hardly noticeable anymore, each of the cities has its own local form of government and each has a unique sense of community that makes both Leander and Cedar Park a great place for residents who have lived here many generations or new comers who want to call either of these communities home. Cedar Park is located few minutes to the northwest of Austin. Highway 183 (and 183 “A”) runs through the center of both communities then continues on to the northwest. There has been a positive environment for businesses and real estate development. In the last few years for both communities that has caused an explosion of expansion and growth. Cedar Park and Leander have grown to such an extent that both can offer major shopping and entertainment areas, one has a regional hospital and includes acclaimed golf and other recognized communities. Some of the phenomenal growth can in part be attributed to the close proximity to the Austin-Round Rock area. Austin and Round Rock offer substantial employment opportunities such as state and local government, universities, hospitals, major corporations, movie and music industry and sports affiliates. The Austin metro area is known for and offers a wide variety of local shopping and entertainment or can provide a more upscale environment for others. Austin is one of the fastest growing cities in the nation, and provides growth opportunities to the surrounding areas. Cedar Park and Leander are conviently located to take advantage of all that the Austin Metro-Plex has to offer while maintaining the image of local neighborhoods that are urban, upscale and modern that might appeal to professionals or family friendly neighborhoods that boast of parks, trails, playgrounds, swimming pools and neighborhood schools. Leander can offer neighborhood communities but can also offer homes situated on larger lots or acreage. While situated a short distance past Cedar Park, there is major development of shopping and dining areas providing Leander residents with these amenities a little closer to home. Cedar Park is located in Travis and Williamson counties, while Leander is located in Williamson County. Leander Independent School District serves both communities of Cedar Park and Leander. Cedar Park is home to Cedar Park High School, Vista Ridge High School and the new Rouse High School. Leander is home to Leander High. Middle schools and elementary schools are located through out the district in local neighborhoods. Leander ISD is one of the fastest growing schools districts with a growth rate of six campuses to 33 campuses in the last dozen years. In 2008 TEA ratings ranked 22 of the 29 Leander ISD schools as “Recognized or Exemplary”. Situated as they are, both Leander and Cedar Park residents have easy access to all the natural beauty the lakes and the beautiful hill country has to offer. Both communities are only minutes away from Lake Travis and the other Highland Lakes which offer boating, swimming, fishing, and a multitude of other activities for anyone who appreciates the outdoors. After a day of fun in the sun, the hill country and lakes offer numerous restaurants and clubs that are positioned to capture these magnificent sunset views. Cedar Park and Leander are both rapidly growing communities that have the ability to offer modern upscale homes in neighborhoods that are convient for professionals that commute and want the lifestyle that a metropolis such as Austin has to offer but also appeal to families who want a small family friendly neighborhood where they feel can raise their children in a progressive, safe, fun and inviting lifestyle.
