What exactly does MMORPG stand for, is a massive multiplayer online role-playing game. Its basically a game you play online with other people from all over the world. The term MMORPG came about in 1997, when the creator of Ultima Online thought of it, his name was Richard Garriott.In any role-playing game or RPG you are playing as a fictional character, normally its in a fantasy world, you will have normally pretty much full control of your character. An MMORPG is distinguished from other RPGs by how many people are playing the game.If you dont think MMORPGs are popular, just bare in mind that revenues in 2005 were over half a billion dollars, and in 2006 the Western world only, revenues were over one billion.
