"Michael and Mick Shmazian informed their parents that they're going to attempt to get into Harvard University. While their parents are ecstatic, supportive, and proud, finding ways to ensure that the boys will meet their goals is no easy task. Everyone in the family has decided to do what they can to help Michael and Mick succeed. They have all put their heads together to mine resources that will help find information for achieving higher scores on SATs, financing, and anything else they might need to successfully complete the application process. Michael and Mick begin their hunt at their local library. While many of the books there are out of date, they do find a couple that offer How-To advice on achieving higher scores with the SAT testing program. Michael was fortunate enough to find a college guide to Harvard University, which specifically lists optimal testing scores and results for admittance. Mick Shmazian manages to find a rich source of information in the reference section. That book describes various programs, degrees, and classes that are available for the upcoming spring session. While the boys sit down and start looking through their materials for more specific and detailed information, their parents are busy mining their own resources. Michael and Mick's father has decided to call in all the favors owed to him to help start a fund to pay for the boys' advanced education at one of the most famous universities in the world. While he knows and understands that such favors are certainly not going to pay the tuition fees, they may help pay for some books. Their mother has decided that she's going to become a baking diva. She has already made arrangements and disseminated information with all her friends, the PTA, and her local women's civic group that she will provide baking and catering services. Now, everyone knows that she's a fantastic baker, and she has no doubt that she'll be able to earn enough money to also help pad the fund that her husband has started for their boys. This is just the beginning; sitting together and breaking down ways that they can all help find research information on how to pay for such a college education, they know there is a lot more work to do. Achieving high scores on SATs are going to be the boys' main challenge of entering Harvard. Friends and family members have agreed to help start quizzing the boys as well as providing tutoring and study help. Several teachers have agreed to help them prepare for their SATs. While the boys realize that there are many online and local sources for practicing SAT testing procedures, they all cost money. They are trying to earn additional funds, not stem them, so the support and encouragement from friends and family members is greatly appreciated by both of them. As they mine and dig deeper for resources and information not only on the SAT testing process, but the little details are finding out about attending Harvard, they are sure that such support will come in real handy."
