Popularity of Nike Air Jordans Hatches Counterfeits

By: Harry Peter

Perhaps Air Jordans are the most popular and the first brand of shoes that made big time money for all and sundry including the counterfeit shoes manufacturers too. But it sucks, having to pay huge sums of money and still nursing the fear of getting duped and yet, when you wear it to just about anywhere you wouldn’t be able to enjoy the moment, let alone enjoying the adulation, you feel you are robbed of something. Really speaking, it is only the popularity of these legendary of shoes that hatched fake manufacturing; to say the least, it really sucks.

Recently I stumbled upon a couple of news pieces on the internet when researching about Air Jordans which got me sigh with disgust. One was a forum where boarders discussed what steps eBay should take to stop auctioning fake products and one member even raised doubts over ebay’s commitment to enforce the things strongly. Obviously, Nike Air Jordans was the most discussed things amongst others. The point here is not what eBay should be doing if it is not doing it already but the rise of fake Air Jordans to prominence.

The second piece really got me got me thinking hard as to whether I was living at a time when you have to swear for every plain act of yours. It was an ebay auction ad for Nike Air Jordans and the seller was repeating himself that his product was really genuine and that he never used anything which was not so and that he be believed because of this and because of this, there was no chance of him selling fake Air Jordans at all. I still would want to believe that he was selling genuine products but my utter dismay is at the compulsion he was under to claim and swear several times throughout his sales pitch.

What is Nike doing to protect its loyal customers who saved their hard earned money to buy their dream shoes? If there was a slightest indication of popularity coming down, I am sure, it would be the fake masters that desert the ship first but it is unfortunate that demand for them appears to be growing as ever. Now, as if to help things worsen further, Nike is not making its top brands available anytime. So, it’s a field day for counterfeit producers and sellers everyday. Even Air Jordan x Air Force 1 Fusion is not spared.

I can’t figure out how much worth is second-hand Nike Air Jordans’ market and I am not sure whether it is really contributing any share to the sales pie overall but it exposes those fans of Air Jordans bitten by nostalgic bugs. Of course, it is not always that you buy used shoes out of shortage of money but then Air Jordans are different, they are in their own class, new or used.

I have seen Chinese being accused for flooding counterfeit Nike Air Jordans blatantly and there may be truth in this if you go by all those worthless wares they sell half way round the globe!
