Profitable Site Promotion - There's A New PUSH Going On!

By: kb

If you're going to master this little do-hickey called the internet, then you need to understand that profitable site promotion is all about learning when to PULL and the knowing when to PUSH.

If you have tremendous content that people are aware of and are beating down your door to get to then obviously you are PULLING. You are letting your goods and services do the talking without having to say a thing.

Imagine Tom Hanks walks into a seminar on acting. Do you honestly think he needs to say a word in order to have the biggest line waiting to talk to him after the seminar is over?

No.

He is PULLING those people toward him. They are aware of his merits and they want what he has. Or at least a taste of it.

Now, let's take the more typical stance. Let's assume that you are a small business owner and that not everyone thinks of you as Tom Hanks. In fact, let's further say that while you may be the greatest aluminum siding guy in 9 counties or you happen to be the best Italian caterer on the earth, not enough people know that YET.

So what do you have to do...you have to PUSH.

You must come up with a way on your website to ENGAGE those virtual visitors enough so that they will allow you to start and then nurture a dialogue with you over time. This is where you will PUSH your best content forward...this is where you educate them on what makes you so much better than your competitors.

Statistically, it takes between 5 to 7 new exposures of your good or service for that people to buy from you.

If you PUSH your content forward to them, and do it in bite sized pieces that are manageable and entertaining, then you win.

And you know you've won when you suddenly need a second cash register for all your sales!

Profitable site promotion is all about the right kind of PUSH for most small businesses.
