Voice Talent Can Make Your Business Look More Professional

By: Terry Daniel

Somewhere along the line, many business people realize that a good way to become successful is to look as if you are already successful. Most people are not altruistic in their heart. Although you hear good natured stories of people giving a rookie a chance or patronizing a new business to help a young person get their foot in the door, these are guardian angel stories, and a business is not going to be able to sustain itself on just one generous customer. You have to convince the masses.

Benjamin Franklin was aware of this when he started his first business, which is why he rushed around acting as if he was taking orders. Because people believed that their friends and neighbors and colleagues were doing business with him, they also decided to give him their business. You have to do the same thing – portray yourself as successful whether or not you are successful yet.

And even if you are having success in you business, you still have to show off sometimes. If people don't know that everyone wants you, they are less likely to want to do business with you too. Sad but true. Luckily, some of the things you can do in order to look successful are simple and not super expensive. Hiring a voice talent to handle things like outgoing voicemail and answering machine messages is one of those things. Sure, you could do it yourself instead of hiring a professional, but then that makes you seem just a little too accessible.

The trick is to be accessible, but to not seem that way. Therefore, every time you DO speak with one of your customers, they will feel more special. They like that feeling, so they'll keep giving you their business. Your voice talent can help you to paint that picture so to speak. In fact, your voice artist will probably make your customers feel better about catching a recorded message, than your voice would. That's because of the professional nature of hiring a voice artist for your company’s image.

Hiring a voice artist to handle voice mails can give you an better image because it makes you seem to have people on staff, or at least, shows people that you are sophisticated enough to purchase professional-services. And that is a very important buzzword. Hiring a voice actor will make you seem like a professional as well. You're a professional consultant, for example - you do not make your voice messages any more than you would repair your own plumbing. You are smart enough to know when to get a pro -including a professional voice over artist. People will pick up on that, even on a subliminal level, and they will gravitate toward you.

No matter what kind of business you are in, even if you are the guy who repairs the consultant's plumbing, hiring a voice actor to handle your voice messages will make you look more professional. Nothing can make or break a company like it’s image -except maybe the quality of their work. But no one will know what kind of work you do if they don't give you a shot, and they won't give you an opportunity if you don't have a professional image. A professional voice talent can help you achieve that image.
